  • Hello Neighbor Network prepares for its largest class of nonprofit leaders

    12/08/21 We are so excited to announce that Hello Neighbor has named WeaveTales among its 2022 Network Fellows, which will provide essential support, resources, and funding opportunities. The Hello Neighbor Network is a coalition of grassroots organizations working in refugee and immigrant resettlement in the US. As a Network Fellow, WeaveTales will participate in a 10-month intensive leadership program designed to further the organization’s mission to empower and support immigrants and refugees through storytelling, as well as educating communities to create a welcoming environment for new Americans. WeaveTales and other 2022 fellows will join an existing group of members for professional development, regrant opportunities, national convening, and ongoing support as it continues and expands program offerings.

    03/18/21 There are 27,000 immigrants and refugees entering the state each year. As part of next week’s 3rd Annual Florida Refugee Advocacy Week, organizations such as Florida Immigrant Coalition will be educating legislators and the public about refugee resettlement. Refugee-turned-activist Basma Alawee says she wants to “build bridges” for incoming refugees.

Neighborly is scheduled to launch in June, months after its original debut date in April, because of the coronavirus pandemic.”

It will be celebrated around the world and here in Jacksonville. Basma Alawee of the Florida Immigrant Coalition and WeaveTales was in Studio 5 with a preview.
